My name is Caio Penedo, thanks for landing here to know a little more about me!
I come all the way from Brazil to the United States seeking for better opportunities.
Moving here was a great way to learn English, getting the opportunity to meet amazing people and know more about different cultures from all over the world.
I love exploring anything related to creativity and all the fields it encompasses. But so far, I’ve enjoyed the most: motion design, crochet, 3D modeling, ceramics, relief, lithography, creative coding and brand identity.
And my hobbies/interests are: skate/long-boarding, ice skating, dancing, fashion, technology, and traveling.
Here is where I’m from and grew up in Brazil, I spent the first 17 years of my life living there
My journey to design
And most importantly I got to grow and re-invent myself in many different ways so I can get closer to my true self, this is why I find myself here now, designing this website.
My path here took many different twists and turns before getting to where I am now. I believe that, due to trial and error, I’m able to find what I want to pursue for my career.
I have always been interested in creativity and innovation. When I was little, I would always say that I wanted to be an “inventor” when I grew up, being able to make breakthroughs and create things never seen before.
Since I’ve always admired the idea to work traveling the world and making videos, my first career attempt was filmmaking.
I had a lot of fun making videos but at the end it didn’t really work out. After spending two semesters in filmmaking, I saw that it wasn’t what I thought. I couldn’t picture myself doing that in the future, and decided to keep that just as a hobby.
After that, I spent some time “lost” in this void where I was trying to find something more fulfilling that I can identify myself more with. This is when, a few months later, design came to me.
Conclusion
I was spending the summer break in Brazil, when my mom mentioned to me that she had hired a marketing and design agency to work on the brand identity of her interior design store.
Seeing the potential there and my interest in this area, she arranges me to meet the company in person and talk to the members. After seeing their projects and the many things I could do in this area, I found myself there.
